K3rn3l Pøissøn: Exploring the Experimental Side of Error Etica

K3rn3l Pøissøn performing live with modular synthesizers

K3rn3l Pøissøn is the experimental electronic music project of Spanish producer Víctor Martínez, also known as Error Etica and founder of Psychoskunk. Moving beyond the structures of his main techno project, this alias opens a more abstract and visceral territory where unconventional rhythms, sound synthesis and improvisation converge.

Beyond Error Etica: A Different Creative Identity

K3rn3l Pøissøn emerges from Martínez’s need to explore musical ideas outside the framework of Error Etica. Conceived as a creative outlet, the project allows intuition, emotional contrast and experimentation to shape the music without the constraints of a fixed genre.

Musically, K3rn3l Pøissøn moves freely between IDM, experimental electronics, halftime, 2-step, grime, drum & bass, noise and unconventional rhythmic structures. Rather than following a fixed direction, the project embraces constant transformation, allowing different sounds, techniques and influences to emerge depending on each creative process.

Its name draws inspiration from the Poisson kernel, a mathematical concept associated with harmonic functions and potential theory. This connection between mathematics, sound and technology informs an approach built around analog synthesis, digital processing and algorithmic experimentation.

For Martínez, K3rn3l Pøissøn functions as a creative core, a space where ideas emerge, mutate and feed into his wider artistic practice.

K3rn3l Pøissøn Live: Synthesis, Improvisation and Sound Design

The K3rn3l Pøissøn live set combines modular synthesis, drum machines, sequencers, effects and digital tools, including iOS-based applications and tracker software.

Improvisation remains central to the performance. Previously developed sounds, samples and sequences provide a foundation, while their arrangement and processing evolve in real time.

The music moves through intricate rhythmic patterns, shifting tempos, granular textures and contrasting atmospheres. Broken rhythms and unconventional percussion coexist with abstract sound design, noise and melodic passages.

The project also explores an audiovisual live format, integrating visuals as another dimension of its experimental language. Visual artist Camile Duhart Dode is among the collaborators involved in this approach.

K3rn3l Pøissøn Live at Celobert Festival, Barcelona (2018)

One of the earliest documented live performances of K3rn3l Pøissøn took place at Celobert Festival: Advanced Arts in Barcelona in 2018, an event dedicated to experimental electronic music and its relationship with visual and digital arts.

The performance offers an insight into the project’s foundations: a live setup combining modular synthesis, iPad-based sequencing, digital processing and improvisation. Moving through irregular rhythmic patterns, granular textures, noise and contrasting melodic passages, the set reflects Martínez’s interest in exploring sound beyond conventional electronic music structures.

Celobert Festival also produced a video interview and feature with Víctor Martínez, offering a closer look at the ideas behind K3rn3l Pøissøn, his creative process and the relationship between technology and emotional expression.

Together, the recorded live set and interview document an important early chapter of the project, illustrating an experimental approach that continues to define its creative identity.

Selected Releases: From Hierarchy to Teoría de la Elasticidad

K3rn3l Pøissøn’s discography reflects an open-ended approach to electronic music, bringing together experimental composition, intricate rhythmic structures and a wide range of synthesis and sound-processing techniques.

Teoría de la Elasticidad — Industrial Complexx (2026)

Released on June 1, 2026, Teoría de la Elasticidad is a ten-track album published by Industrial Complexx (IC049), available digitally and as a limited-edition cassette with booklet.

Recorded between 2018 and 2024 at Analog Maceration Studio in Calahorra, the album explores the interaction of different synthesis techniques, iOS applications and tracker-based composition.

Its ten tracks reflect the project’s interest in mathematical structures, timbral experimentation and unconventional approaches to electronic music.
