We are proud to share the latest delivery of the Vinyl Matters series (#042), featuring an exclusive, vinyl-only DJ set by D-Knox (Donnell Knox). Recorded live at Matter Of Fact—one of Europe’s premier vinyl pressing plants—this session brings together pure musical craftsmanship and the authentic roots of American electronic music.

For decades, D-Knox has carried the sonic DNA of two foundational cities: the futuristic depth of Detroit and the physical, driving groove of Chicago. Growing up in Kalamazoo, Michigan—geographically positioned right between both hubs—he naturally fused these influences into a distinctive, hypnotic style.

D-Knox delivers an exclusive vinyl mix live from the Matter Of Fact pressing plant

Over 30 years of Sonic Mind: Machine precision and analog soul

Since the mid-1990s, Donnell Knox has championed his vision through his influential label, Sonic Mind Records. His music eschews short-lived trends in favor of timeless energy, blending tight drum programming, rolling basslines, and deep mental atmospheres.

In this session for Matter Of Fact, D-Knox demonstrates his mastery of the turntables, delivering a raw, physical, and deeply curated techno-house narrative that speaks directly to the dancefloor.

“A masterclass in analog mixing from a true pioneer of the Midwest scene, recorded inside the very factory where vinyl comes to life.”
